I have done additional Internet research about what Raven is. The articles at https://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2018/11/a-journey-on-budgie-desktop-2-raven.html, https://news.itsfoss.com/budgie-10-7-release/, https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/02/budgie-107-sounds-like-a-great-desktop-to-use-on-linux/ and https://spins.fedoraproject.org/nl/budgie/ were studied. Raven is a right panel on the Budgie desktop environment which is normally hidden and can be folded out to the left. It has two tabs, widgets and notifications. In 2018 Raven had three widgets which could not be configured. They were a calendar, volume control and playback control. The current Budgie 10.7 has a fourth widget, a usage monitor for CPU, RAM and swap use. It also has an API for Raven so that developers can create new widgets. However, I would not call Raven a centre because that would bring the configuration centres of GNOME and MATE to mind. a year ago |
